Gulets are essentially kin to the traditional fisher and transport boats of the Mediterrannean. In the
course of the time, these were modified to their contemporary profile with a wide body and large deck,
also the inner spaces were completely rearranged for a comfortable accommodation of the passangers.
Usually a gulet can host 8 to 16 people in 1 to 3-berth cabins and average length is above 20 meters
(60 feet).
But the size may vary between 14 and 40 meters (52- 125 feet) hence varying
passanger capacity. The cabins are usually for two and almost all of them have private WC and shower.
The cabins of the crew are completely separeted from those of the passangers. The gulets offer enough
space to the passangers in the cabins, salon, in the aisles, on the deck and on the aft deck letting .
The crew consists of a captain, a cook and one or two deckhands. In small boats the crew may be the captain and the cook.
The cooks are well trained in culinary skills. Although the gulets are essentially motor yachts, it is
possible to sail certain distances during a Blue Cruise.
